Teen arrested during traffic stop in Santa Cruz
Santa Cruz police officers who were patrolling the city after recent shootings arrested a teen during a traffic stop on Sunday, January 3, 2016.
It happened at the intersection of Wharf Road and Grace Street.
Police said the 17-year-old driver is a known gang member.
Officers found a loaded semi-automatic handgun inside the car along with drugs and ammunition.
The teen was arrested for several drug charges as well as possession of a loaded, concealed firearm and participation in a criminal street gang.
