Salinas police investigate first shooting of the year
UPDATE 1/03/15 7 PM: Salinas police are on the lookout for two suspects accused of shooting a 19-year-old Hispanic man, Friday night.
According to investigators, the victim was shot several times in the head after dropping off two of his friends near Parsons Avenue.
During the shooting, police said the victim tried to get away but lost control of his car and crashed into a parked car on Rainier Drive.
The victim was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition.
ORIGINAL: Salinas police is investigating the first shooting of the year, Friday night.
According to police, the shooting happened near Rainier Drive and Amador Circle around 11 p.m.
Investigators believe a Hispanic man was driving down Rainer Drive when he was shot several times in the head.
Police said the victim was still alive when he was transported to a nearby hospital. No further information on the victim has been released.
Police have not released any suspect information.
