Record number of women golfers to play in 2016 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

There will be several familiar faces at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am next year — Jordan Spieth, Jason Day, Bubba Watson, Dustin Johnson, defending champion Brandt Snedeker, Phil Mickelson, Davis Love III and Jason Dufner.

But there will also be plenty of new faces as a record number of women golfers accepted invitations to compete.

The six women include Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, swimsuit model Kelly Rohrbach, former NBA executive Heidi Ueberroth, Annesley MacFarlane, Julie Frist, and Mary Meeker.

“We are delighted to have these remarkable women be part of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am,” Monterey Peninsula Foundation CEO and Tournament Director Steve John said.

Until now, the most women to play in the tournament was four. That happened in 1941, 1978 and 1980.

Tickets for the tournament, which runs from Feb. 8 to Feb. 14, are already on sale.

More players will be announced soon.
