Caught on camera in Santa Cruz: All kinds of night prowlers
Recent footage from a home surveillance camera is a good reminder to keep cars locked, items off front porches, and pets inside.
The Santa Cruz Police Department released these images Tuesday. In the first case, a home surveillance camera on the upper Westside caught a “human” prowler checking car doors in a neighborhood. Minutes before, the camera captured a mountain lion walking by.
Police say not only is this a good reminder to lock things up and keep pets inside, it’s also a reminder to be on alert.
Also on Tuesday, an alert neighbor called 911 after spotting a prowler on Fair Avenue. Officers arrested Michael Salazar, 45, a transient. Officers said he was wandering around a home. They also said he took items off the front porch.
