Holiday shopping procrastinators shop Super Saturday
“Going in and out of stores and seeing what kinda hits my fancy,” said Sara Lee from Arlington , Texas.
It’s the last Saturday before Christmas.
“So we better go out there and go shopping,” said shopper Yvette Ortega.
With extended hours and more than 140 stores the Gilroy Premium Outlets is paradise for last minute shoppers.
“You findpeoplethat you know the last, last minute that you sort of forgot about, your extended families,” said Adrian Hayes from San Jose. “You’re trying to make them your family.”
Retail experts predict this super Saturday will be the second largest day for in store shopping and sales.
It’s estimated to bring in more than $10 billion in sales, surpassing black Friday numbers.
“Super Saturday you can always expect lines,” Gilroy Premium Outlets director of marketing and business development. “But if you come prepared and know exactly where you want to go you can map out your route and beat those lines.”
Nearly half of all Americans still have some holiday gifts to buy.
Shoppers we talked to were snagging presentsfor family members, significant others and themselves.
“I usually go to the stores that I like and try andfind somethingfor everybody else, that’s my trick,” said Megan Voss of Redwood City. “One for them, one for me.”
Procrastinators were on the hunt for toys, beauty products, appareland big savings.
“Right now especially like last minute people are trying to get stuff out of the stores so you’ll get good deals,” said Ortega.
“Makes it worth the drive,” said Lisa Arieta-Hayes from San Jose, CA.
