Deputies find stolen gifts under tree in Santa Cruz home
Front porch pirates continue to make their rounds throughout Santa Cruz County. We’re talking about people who steal mail from doorsteps.
In the latest case, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Department said deputies found stolen gifts wrapped under a tree inside a Santa Cruz home. In their words from Facebook, “In this case, re-gifting is literally a crime.”
Deputies were at the home for a probation search, and the resident was suspected of having stolen property.
The sheriff’s department said the stolen gifts came from multiple locations in the county, stolen from doorsteps. Deputies said they still have several recovered items that they would love to return to the original owner. They can be reached at (831) 471-1121.
