Woman shot while walking with cousin in Salinas

Salinas police are investigating a shooting that injured a 26-year-old woman.

According to police, two female cousins, ages 26 and 22, started running when they heard gun shots in the area of Dallas Avenue. The 26-year-old victim then realized she had been shot in the hip.

Someone driving by stopped to help and drove them to Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital.

The 26-year-old was hit in her hip. She was treated and released from the hospital.
