Watsonville lights 35ft tall Tree

Watsonville held its 4th annual tree lighting ceremony in the City Plaza.

The Aptos Blue Sequoia was donated and has more than 2,500 lights.

Organizers say it will do more than just look pretty.

“It’s to bring more people downtown and show the residents of Watsonville that they come downtown and enjoy,” said Marty Corley with Holiday in the Plaza.

The live tree will stay up until the new year.

Once taken down it will be planted in a local park.
