Del Rey Woods Elementary teacher wins Classroom Makeover

Our local teachers often use their own money to bring much needed supplies to their classroom. That’s why NewsChannel 5 is asking our viewers to nominate teachers who need a Classroom Makeover.

This week we visited Ms. Colina’s classroom at Del Rey Elementary School in King City.

Thanks to our sponsor Central Coast Federal Credit Union, Ms. Colina was presented with a $500 check. Anchors Spencer Washburn and Amanda Gomez surprised her with the check for being another deserving teacher on the Central Coast.

We asked Mrs. Colina what she plans to spend the money on.

“Ah, definitely some art supplies. Um, we want to make a really nice present for their family for Christmas. So I can now go to the craft store and by some really nice things,” Mrs. Colina said.
