CHP asks for public’s help in fatal crash investigation

The California Highway Patrol is asking the public for help finding a friend of the victim of a deadly crash.

Kevin Wesley McCray was hit by a car as he was trying to cross Highway 101, south of Blackie, in the Prunedale area on November 17 th . Investigators said McCray did have alcohol in his system at the time of the accident.

McCray later died from his injuries.

Officers are now trying to find out more on McCray’s whereabouts before the accident. Investigators are also looking for the friend McCray was staying with before the crash.

According to the California Highway Patrol, McCray was staying with an auto body/mechanic friend somewhere in Prunedale.

Investigators hope McCray’s friend will be able to help them return McCray’s belongings to his family.
