Two arrested during Watsonville motel drug bust

Watsonville Police said two people were arrested after a search at a motel Tuesday night. Officers said they were dispatched to Rodeway Inn on W. Beach St. after two men refused to leave their room after checkout.

Once on scene, officers said they found a large amount of cash, a scale, heroin, methamphetamine and bullets inside the room. Both Rhodes Walsh, 37, and Kevin Sharp, 28, were wanted and were arrested.

Investigators said they also found a semi-automatic gun and more ammunition during their search.

Both suspects were taken to the Santa Cruz County Jail.
