Seaside Police: Drunk driver arrested, firearm found

A Seaside man has been arrested after police said he blocked an entire roadway after passing out drunk in his car with the engine running, Saturday morning.

Officers said they got a report of a passed out driver blocking the 1700 block of Lowell Sreet around 7:30 a.m.

Once police arrived, they said they found Grady Clay asleep and showing signs of intoxication .

There were several empty alcohol bottles in his car and a loaded gun near his feet , according to police.

The gun turned out to be a stolen .45 Caliber Ruger Revolver.

Police said Clay is a convicted felon and is prohibited to have firearms in his possession.

Clay was booked into Monterey County Jail and faces charges for driving under the influence and for being a felon with a stolen firearm.
