Self-balancing “hoverboards” popular on the Central Coast
A new fad is hitting the sidewalks of the Central Coast. It’s not quite skateboarding, and it’s not quite like being on a segway, but the board may be the hottest new item on Christmas lists.
Across social media, some people refer to the board as a “hoverboards.” But not everyone is sure what they’re are called.
“There’s other ones called ‘funky ducks.’ There’s other ones called ‘I-glides’,” said Allen Ganaden, co-owner of Vape3one.
Currently, the Vape3one vape shop in Marina sells the new product.
Vape3one only gets about 20 per shipment and with Christmas around the corner, they expect to sellout fast.
“They sellout like the day we post them on Instagram or Facebook,” said Ganaden.
Though prices will vary online, a two-wheeled balancing scooter will cost you about $350 at the Vape3one.
