Meals needed for warming center

Volunteers at the Winter Warming Shelter in Salinas say they need organizations to help donate meals to the less fortunate.

The facility accommodates 50 to 60 people a night from November through April. Meals are provided to those who come in. However, those meals are donated by community organizations.

Volunteers say that in December, they don’t have meal donations set up for 14 different days. The trend continues from January through April.

Organizations who want to donate food can contact volunteer Linda Reed at faithshelter@comcast.net. They can also reach out to Community Homeless Solutions.
