Closing arguments in Miranda murder trial
Closing arguments Tuesday in the Francisco Miranda murder trial mean his fate will be determined very soon.
Miranda is accused of running over and killing two women outside of Natividad Medical Center two years ago. Police reported he was high on marijuana at the time.
One of the victims was a hospital security guard; the other, a patient. The guard, Linda Williams, was allegedly helping patient Cynthia Lane walk out of the hospital.
According to the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office, Miranda faces two counts of second-degree murder, two counts of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, driving under the influence causing injury or death, hit and run causing injury or death, and driving with a license suspended due to a previous DUI conviction.
Miranda faces a maximum of 34 years to life in prison.
