Work on Lighthouse Tunnel completed early

Work on the Lighthouse Tunnel in Monterey was completed sooner than expected. That means the tunnel will be open Tuesday night.

Crews closed the tunnel for manhole repairs and for the removal of the fountain at Custom House Plaza. They determined the fountain removal will not require the tunnel to close.

As for the fountain removal work, that will continue through mid-December, according to the city of Monterey.
