Vandals target the Mission Santa Cruz
Santa Cruz police are investigating a case of vandalism at the Mission Santa Cruz as a hate crime.
Police say Holy Cross staff noticed red paint on the mission’s walls around 7 a.m. Monday.
Spray paint and red paint was splashed across the doors.
There were no surveillance cameras in the immediate area, but investigators are looking at surveillance video from surrounding areas.
Police do not have any suspect information.
Police also can’t confirm whether this incident is connected to two similar cases of vandalism in Carmel and Monterey.
