UPDATE: Power restored to Monterey Peninsula after brief outage Monday

UPDATE 11/2/15 4:50 PM: PG&E said it has restored power to the Monterey Peninsula after an outage was reported at 3:15 p.m. Monday.

Crews said the outage affected about 6,000 people. Currently about 100 people in Monterey and about 60 people in Pebble Beach still don’t have power.

Crews said a downed tree on a power line was the cause.

ORIGINAL STORY: A power outage has left about 6,000 Monterey residents in the dark on Monday.

The outage was reported at 3:15 p.m. by PG&E. The areas affected include Monterey, Pacific Grove, Pebble Beach, and the Del Monte Forest area.

PG&E crews are trying to determine the cause, and are currently working to restore power.
