Residents help stop stabbing in Salinas

Salinas locals were able to stop a stabbing Wednesday night.

It happened just before 10:30 p.m. on the 300 block of El Camino Real.

Deputies say Gerardo Hernandez threatened to kill Javier Hernandez with a knife.

People nearby stopped the car and held Gerardo down until deputies arrived.

Gerardo is now in county jail and Javier is recovering from cut wounds to his hands.
