Double stabbing in Gilroy leaves woman dead

A woman stabbed earlier this month in Gilroy has died, according to the Gilroy Police Department.

Police said on Oct. 5, Stephen Gause-Subia, 20, stabbed his grandmother, Margarita Subia, 83, and his aunt on the 8400 block of Wayland Lane.

Margarita died as a result of her injuries she sustained during the attack. Stephen’s aunt remains in the hospital, police said.

Stephen was arrested the same day of the stabbing. Investigators are still trying to determine what led him to attack his family members.

Stephen faces one count murder for the death of his grandmother and a count of attempted murder for the assault on his aunt.
