Police chase in Salinas leads to two arrests

On Tuesday night, Salinas police officers attempted to stop a gray Nissan Altima for a vehicle code violation.

The driver, 25-year-old Antonio Zavala failed to stop and a short chase followed before the driver collided with a parked pick-up truck.

Zavala and the front seat passenger, 29-year-old Edgar Navarro were taken into custody. A third person was able to get away.

Police discovered a loaded gun inside the car.

Both suspects, who are gang members were booked into the Monterey County Jail for several charges.
