UPDATE: CHP identifies driver killed in Marina crash Thursday morning
UPDATE 10/1/15 5:18 p.m.: The California Highway Patrol has identified both drivers involved in a deadly crash Thursday morning.
Officers said Robert Bryant, 50, was driving a 2007 Nissan eastbound on Reservation Rd. through a downhill curve and due to his speed and wet conditions, he crossed over the double yellow line into oncoming traffic.
Officers said Edwin Pened, 23, was driving a 2000 Sterling westbound on Reservation Rd. and tried to avoid the Nissan, but Bryant crashed into a flat bed being carried behind behind Pened’s car.
Bryant died at the scene, officers said. Reservation Rd. was shut down for about three hours.
UPDATE 10/1/15 10:49 a.m.: Reservation Road has reopened in both directions following Thursday morning’s fatal car crash. CHP is asking drivers to drive carefully in the area.
PREVIOUS STORY: A road closure on Reservation and Panziera is in place, after a fatal car accident Thursday morning in Marina.
The California Highway Patrol says the accident happened just after 6:30 a.m. involving a pick up truck and produce flatbed.
Law enforcement have closed the area to investigate and no other details are known at this time.
