News Operations Manager

Position: News Operations Manager

NPG of Monterey-Salinas, CA LLC., a cluster of television stations that includes CBS (KION), The CW, and Telemundo (KMUV) affiliates in Salinas, California, is accepting applications for a News Operations Manager.

This position oversees all on air news transmissions for the station, and will supervise the News Operations department staff. This position is also responsible for training the On-Air Technicians in all aspects of the news control room, including directing live newscasts, running/creating graphics for newscast, editing video, and operating a live van and satellite truck.

Qualified applicants should have a working knowledge of television equipment and understand television news operations, as well as advanced understanding of broadcast workflows. A minimum two years of experience in directing/editing or similar experience in a broadcast environment. Management or Supervisory experience is preferred.

Candidate must have excellent computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft office software. Candidate must have strong analytical and organizational skills and be able to work in a fast paced and ever changing work environment, be a team player, with the ability to also work independently, with little supervision, and have excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills. Applicant should possess above average mobility, with the ability to lift and/or move 50 pounds unassisted.
