Bomb squad investigates suspicious object in downtown Salinas
UPDATE 10/1/15 1:02 p.m.: Salinas Police said a suspicious device was deemed not to be a threat after it was located near the Amtrak Station Thursday morning.
Officers said the device was made of a light blub and circuit board with wires attached to both ends. A robot was sent in by the Monterey County Bomb Squad to inspect the device.
Investigators said about 75 people were evacuated at the train station and nearby businesses.
Police are checking nearby surveillance cameras to see if they can identify a suspect.
