Donation effort underway for Tassajara Fire victims

The Community Foundation for Monterey County said it created the Tassajara Fire Fund to help fire victims recover. The fund was announced Monday and organizers said it was designed to help those who suffered losses during the Tassajara Fire in Carmel Valley.

The foundation said it will issue grants to local nonprofit agencies to help residents and organizations with recovery efforts including emergency assistance, short term housing or rental assistant, health and wellness concerns, equipment and long-term recovery support.

CFMC said donations can be made by the public atwww.cfmco.org/tassajara, mail a check to the Community Foundation for Monterey County, 2354 Garden Road, Monterey, CA, 93940 “Attention: Tassajara Fire Fund,” or call 831.375.9712 Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 5:00 PM.
