Boulder Creek stabbing suspects charged with assault and battery

Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputies said two people arrested and accused of a stabbing outside a Boulder Creek restaurant are formally charged by the Santa Cruz Superior Court.

Detectives said Kyle Shields,32, is charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury. Sonia Jepson, 41, is charged with battery on an elder adult.

Investigators said Shields and Jepson left Scopazzi’s restaurant on September 13th, without paying. They were confronted outside the restaurant and a waiter and customer were stabbed.

Both are currently being held in the Santa Cruz County Jail.
