UPDATE: Man killed in Salinas marks city’s 21st homicide this year

UPDATE 9/7/15 9:45 P.M.: Salinas police are investigating the city’s 21st homicide this year after a man was gunned down Monday night.

The 26-year-old was walking down Pacific Avenue near Garner Avenue when he was shot multiple times, police said. He died as a result of his injuries.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic man in his 20’s wearing a baggy white shirt and blue jeans. He was seen running from the scene.

The shooting may be gang-related.

Officers said a man in his 20s was walking down Pacific Ave. and was shot multiple times. Police said the suspects may have gotten away in a car and the incident might be gang-related.
