UPDATE: 2 Fish and Wildlife wardens rescued after boat explodes near Santa Cruz
UPDATE 9/6/15: The United States Coast Guard said two Fish and Wildlife wardens suffered second-degree burns after their boat exploded near Santa Cruz Saturday morning.
The wardens were checking activities of several fishing boats off Four Mile Beach when the explosion happened, officials said.
A good Samaritan pulled the wardens out of the water. They were taken to a hospital for treatment.
The United States Coast Guard is investigating the cause of the explosion.

Two California Fish and Wildlife officials suffered second-degree burns after their vessel exploded off Four Mile Beach in Santa Cruz Saturday morning, according to the United States Coast Guard.
Coast guard officials received the call just before 9 a.m.
A good Samaritan pulled both boaters out of the water after calling for help, officials said. They were the only two people on board the vessel when it caught on fire
Both victims were transferred to a Coast Guard vessel and then taken to a hospital.
The cause of the explosion is unknown.
