House fire shuts down Highway 9 in Ben Lomond
UPDATE 9/2/15 12:22 p.m.: Crews said a fire started on the outside of a home in the 8600 block of Highway 9 Wednesday morning.
The home is not a total loss, firefighters said. Flames spread to nearby trees and a tenant was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Highway 9 is back open.
PREVIOUS STORY: A large fire at a home on Highway 9 in Ben Lomond has shut down the highway Wednesday morning, according to dispatchers.
Crews are on scene, trying to put the fire out. A sigalert was sent out at about 8:35 a.m.
CHP does not have an estimated time officers expect to re-open Highway 9.
