Hash oil lab busted in Santa Cruz county, pair arrested

Two men were arrested after Santa Cruz county deputies found an illegal hash oil lab and marijuana grow at a Santa Cruz home.

Matthew Salle, 43, and James Griffin, 34, were arrested.

The county’s Narcotics Enforcement Team served a search warrant on the 2300 block of Harper Street after receiving complaints from concerned neighbors in Live Oak.

Deputies found cases of butane, commonly used in production of hash oil, according to officials.

Salle was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and Griffin was arrested for manufacturing hash oil and possession of a loaded handgun.

Both were booked into Santa Cruz County Jail.
