Drug agents bust Monterey home during search Friday

Two Monterey residents were arrested for allegedly having drugs and firearms inside a home in the 200 block of Glenwood Circle.

Drug agents with the Peninsula Regional Violence and Narcotics Team said a probation search was conducted around 11:00 a.m. Friday.

During their search, detectives said they found two loaded firearms, one assault rifle, one pound of methamphetamine, one ounce of heroin, drug paraphernalia, ammunition and high capacity magazines.

Robert Sampson, 39, and Gabriella Vargas, 37, were arrested and taken to the Monterey County Jail.
