Deputies: Man with prosthetic arm accidentally catches trigger, shoots himself at gun range
Just before 4 p.m. Sunday, Monterey County sheriff deputies responded to a gunshot wound victim at the Laguna Seca Rifle and Pistol Range.
A man had shot himself in the chest after his prosthetic arm had accidentally caught the trigger of the gun he was using, deputies said.
He was rushed to Natividad Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to survive, deputies said.
Although it is up to the victim to release more information, deputies added that people accidentally shooting themselves is a common occurrence at shooting ranges.
