UPDATE: Police ID woman shot and killed in Salinas Thursday night

UPDATE 7/10/15: Salinas Police said its investigating a homicide case where a woman was shot and killed in the driveway of a home on Pacific Ave. Thursday night.

Investigators said Olga Ceja, 22, was found unconscious and was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers reported two Hispanic males in their late teens or early twenties walked up and opened fire on Ceja as she was about to get inside a truck.

Officers said numerous shots were fired and the teens later hopped into a car headed northbound on Pacific Ave. toward Del Monte.

Salinas Police said this case is being investigated as gang related. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Gabe Gonzalez at 758-7127 or Detective Gerardo Magana at 758-7129.

PREVIOUS STORY: A woman was shot and killed in Salinas Thursday night. According to Salinas Police, it happened after 9 p.m. on Pacific Avenue.

Police said the victim is in her twenties and was shot outside in a parking lot. They are not sure if she was the intended target.

Not much is know, but police say the suspect may have been wearing a hooded gray sweatshirt.

Police don’t know if the shooting is gang-related. This is the thirteenth homicide of the year in Salinas.
