KION TV will have an opening for a 10 p.m. Anchor on our CW affiliate in Monterey, California. Central Coast CW is in a competitive, visible market on the Central Coast of California. This is the ideal opportunity for the individual seeking to refine their skills as anchor before moving on to a major market.

The ideal candidate will be able to not only Anchor, but cover breaking news and stories that are important to our community. The candidate should be able to connect with our local viewers during live news casts and be able to report the news of the hour clearly and comfortably. The candidate will have the ability to write effective broadcast copy, as well as promo and tease material. The ability to edit video, factually re-write copy, conduct interviews, interact well with co-anchors and other personnel, and meet all deadlines and work schedules, are also essential to this position. This position requires the ability to report and cover breaking news. Flexible schedule and public appearances required.

Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism or equivalent is required. Four years of Television Broadcasting experience is preferred. Candidate must pass a drug test and background check. A valid driver’s license is required.
