UPDATE: Brush fire in Monterey’s Don Dahvee Park contained

UPDATE 7/3/2015 2:51 p.m.: Crews are mopping up a fire in Don Dahvee Park in Monterey Friday afternoon.

Monterey Fire Chief Fire Chief Gaudenz Panholzer said the fire only grew to less than a quarter acre and crews were able to put it out quickly.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

PREVIOUS STORY: Monterey Fire is battling a vegetation fire in Don Dahvee Park Friday afternoon.

Crews said the fire started near Munras Ave. and El Dorado St. and its about 1/4 to 1/2 acre in size.
