Woman robbed at gunpoint in Watsonville bank parking lot

A 47-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint early Thursday morning near the ATM machine at a Bay Federal Credit Union location in Watsonville, according to police.

Officers said the woman was approached by three male suspects between 16 to 18 years old, all wearing black hooded sweatshirts. One suspect showed a handgun and ordered the woman to hand over her car keys, officers said.

The woman begged the suspect to not steal her car. Police said the suspects then grabbed her cellphone from her hand and ran from the scene near Main St. and Clifford Ave.

Police said they were initially dispatched to a 7-11 on Main St. where the woman reported the incident a short distance away from the bank parking lot.
