Woman dies after diving at San Carlos Beach in Monterey
A51-year-old woman has died after diving at San Carlos Beach in Monterey on Saturday, according to emergency responders.
Crews said her fellow divers reported she’d been down 20 feet underwater and started to panic while practicing buddy breathing.
The woman was brought to the surface by diving instructors, crews said. CPR was performed on the beach and she was taken to Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula.
The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office said the woman was unresponsiveat the hospital and she was confirmed dead Thursday.
Her identity is not being release yet because her family has not been notified.
