UPDATE: Marina woman accused in deadly stabbing after partying with the victim, police say

UPDATE 7/1/15: A Marina woman is accused of murdering of a man she partied with and took back to her home early Monday morning, according to Marina Police.

Officers said Shannon Gutierrez, 23, is accused of stabbing Antonio Coria to death. Coria was found lying on the ground outside Gutierrez’s home in the 3000 block of Vera Ln.

Officers said Gutierrez was arrested during their investigation at the home for a parole violation. She is also being charged with homicide and destruction of evidence related to Coria’s murder.

UPDATE 6/29/2015 2:48 p.m.: Marina Police have identified the man killed in Monday’s deadly stabbing.

Police said Antonio Coria Torres, 20, of Salinas was found lying on the ground in the 3000 block of Vera Ln. and was stabbed multiple times.

Officers said a woman has been arrested on unrelated charges.

Investigators said the incident started as an argument between Torres and the suspect. Police believe this is homicide is not gang related and the two knew each other beforehand.

PREVIOUS STORY: Marina Police said officers are investigating a homicide case stemming from a stabbing early Monday morning.

Officers said a man in his 20s was reportedly stabbed at a home in the 3000 block of Vera Ln. near Reindollar Ave. around 2:15 a.m. Investigators said he died on the sidewalk with stab wounds and may have been beaten with a blunt item inside the home.

Police said the victim was renting a room at the home and believe there may have been a small party at the home earlier in the night.

Investigators said they’re not sure who called 911 and they will listen to the recording as part of their investigation. Officers said the altercation may have stemmed from a domestic argument.
