UPDATE: Big Sur Stone Ridge Fire fully contained, crews monitoring hot spots
UPDATE 7/1/15 2:03 p.m.: Crews said the Stone Ridge Fire was 100 percent contained by midnight Wednesday.
Crews determined the fire was only about half an acre and prompted a response from U.S. Forest Service, Big Sur Fire Brigade and CAL FIRE.
Crews are still monitoring the area for any flare ups.
No property damage was reported and no one was hurt.
Crews are asking the public to be very careful this holiday weekend. Campfires are only allowed in designated areas.
PREVIOUS STORY: CAL FIRE crews are assisting the U.S. Forest Service in Big Sur with the Stone Ridge Fire Tuesday night burning in the Los Padres National Forest.
The fire started around 6:00p.m. and as of 7:00p.m. the fire was about two acres and is burning in the redwoods near the Henry Miller Library.
Local CAL FIRE units from Monterey and San Benito Counties have sent three engines, one dozer, and an inmate hand crews.
