Safe and sane fireworks and 4th of July shows on the Central Coast

With the Fourth of July less than two weeks away, some cities across the Central Coast are getting ready to sell “Safe and Sane” fireworks as early as June 28.

In Salinas, Marina, Watsonville, Hollister, Gilroy, Seaside, Soledad, Gonzales, Greenfield and King City these fireworks are permitted to be sold and used within city limits this 4 th of July holiday.

Carmel, Monterey, Pacific Grove, Scotts Valley, and Morgan Hill do not allow the use and sale of fireworks altogether, including “Safe and Sane.”

In Capitola, “Safe and Sane” fireworks cannot be purchased but can be used on private property. In San Juan Bautista, they may be sold but not used within city limits.

Professional Fireworks Show Listing:

King City will be hosting theirs at King City Park on 401 Division St. The event is free and gates open at 8:00 p.m.

Soledad will have a show at the Little League and Gallardo Parks. There will also be a burger cook-off and carnival games. For more information check the website www.soledad4thofJuly.com.

Scotts Valley will be hosting a 4th of July event at Skypark Park. The fireworks event gates will open at 4:00 pm. The fireworks will begin at 9:15 pm.

Morgan Hill will host their Fireworks on the Green at the Morgan Hill Outdoor Sports Center, 16500 Condit Road, located between Tennant and E. Dunne Avenue. Gates will open at 3:00 p.m. and the fireworks will begin around 9:30 p.m.

Gilroy will have a fireworks show at 9:30 p.m. at their farmer’s market event, located in the City Hall parking lot, Rosanna & 7th Street, Gilroy.

Hollister will have a fireworks show at Marguerite Maze School at dusk.

Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View will have a show on the 4th during their annual concert and fireworks spectacular celebrating American Journeys.
