320 acre wildfire in Lompoc fully contained
UPDATE: The 320 acre Mesa Fire is fully contained. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
UPDATE 6/29/15 4:07 p.m.: Mandatory evacuations are being ordered for residents in the Cebada Canyon, Gypsy Canyon, Tularosa Road and Mission Hills areas, according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office.
Crews report about 1,200 residents are estimated to be impacted by this evacuation.
Deputies, search and rescue Volunteers, California Highway Patrol and California State Parks personnel are actively evacuating residents at this time.
Lompoc wildfire burns at least 200 acres, evacuations orderedUPDATE 6/29/15 3:25 p.m.: Crews said about 200 acres are burning in the Mesa Fire in Lompoc, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
Crews from the Monterey-San Benito County area have not been called out to the fire yet.
Homes have been evacuated in the Mission Hills neighborhood and some businesses are affected as well. Crews also report the La Purisima Mission is threatened.
Livestock and other animals have been evacuated as well. Six air tankers have been called out to the wildfire
6/29/15 2:23 p.m.: Fire crews are battling a wildfire in Lompoc Monday afternoon and residents near the area are being asked to evacuate.
Firefighters said at least 50 acres are burning in the Mission Hills neighborhood near Cebada Canyon Road.
