CA Governor signs vaccine bill, eliminating personal belief exemption
Governor Jerry Brown signed the controversial vaccine bill Tuesday morning, calling for an end to the personal belief exemption option to increase school vaccinations.
The bill was authored by Senator Dr. Richard Pan after a measles outbreak at Disneyland earlier this year, affecting more than 150 people.
Opponents of the bill said they should have the right to include a religious exemption for parents who would like to opt-out of of vaccinations.
California now has some of the toughest regulations in the country when it comes to vaccine-preventable illnesses.
