UPDATE: King City man shot Tuesday in stable condition, police say
UPDATE 6/10/15 1:21 p.m.: King City Police said a 20-year-old man is in stable condition Wednesday after a shooting Tuesday night near San Antonio Drive and Amherst Drive.
Police said the man was shot multiple times and was taken to the hospital from the scene. A suspect has not been arrested.
The suspect’s car is described as a silver or grey 4-door Honda, last seen heading Northbound on Highway 101.
The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office and California Highway Patrol also helped at the scene.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
PREVIOUS STORY: A man was taken to Natividad Medical Center Tuesday night after he was shot while driving in King City, according to King City police.
The shooting happened just after 5:30 p.m. on the 1200 block of Bedford Avenue.
Police said a man driving down San Antonio Drive was approached by another vehicle. That’s when someone inside began shooting striking the victim several times.
As a result, the victim lost control of the vehicle and went up an embankment on Bedford Avenue, police said.
At this time we don’t know the extent of the victim’s injuries.
