Cooling Centers Open in Morgan Hill Monday

Morgan Hill issued a Heat Advisory from 1:00 p.m. through 8:00 p.m. Monday, the warmest day of the year so far. Daytime highs are expected in the 90s to low 100s and will feel particularly warm due to recent weather that has been cooler than normal.

The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity can lead to heat illness the city said.

The Centennial Recreation Center, the Centennial Recreation Senior Center and the Community and Cultural Center are all designated Cooling Centers and the lobby areas are available for the public to use as relief from the heat.

The city reminds residents to not leave kids, pets, or anyone in the car. They also suggest to wear light clothes, eat light foods, drink water and limit caffeine and alcohol consumption.
