Brush fire starts in San Juan Bautista after transformer blows
California Highway Patrol officers said fire crews responded to The Alameda and Hwy 156 in San Juan Bautista for reports of a brush fire Monday evening.
Officers said the call came in at about 6:00p.m. after a transformer blew and came down in the intersection. Sparks from that explosion caught the brush on fire.
Hollister Fire and CALFIRE responded to the scene. There was heavy smoke and officers asked drivers to avoid the area.
