Pilot makes emergency landing on Highway 101 in Morgan Hill
On Saturday, California Highway Patrol said a small plane carrying five people, made an emergency landing on Highway 101 near Coyote Creek Drive in Morgan Hill.
Officers said the 20-year-old pilot from Madera, took off from Harris Ranch Airport in Coalinga and was heading toward Reid-Hillview Airport in San Jose.
Along the way the pilot was forced to land after his engine failed just after 11 p.m. Both lanes were closed on the highway while the aircraft was loaded to a tow truck. CHP said no injuries were reported.
CHP said the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident.
