Retired City Clerk, Geri Johnson, delivered the oath of office for K-9 Freeze, police said. Officers said Freeze is a Belgian Malinois and was donated to the Hollister Police Department through Wonder Woofs earlier this year. The department also said Emergency Vehicle Specialist donated the labor to install equipment in a K9 patrol car.

The department said it also used grant money for training and equipment. Anderson and Freeze plan to begin patrolling together later this week, officers said.
