Distracted driver ticketed twice in less than 10 minutes, CHP says

California Highway Patrol said a driver was pulled over twice in less than 10 minutes for using his cellphone behind the wheel Monday morning in Aptos.

Officers said Arturo Lopez, 41, of Soquel, was first spotted driving northbound on Highway 1 in heavy traffic near Larkin Valley Road. Lopez was cited for distracted driving.

CHP said Lopez was issued a second citation nine minutes after getting the first ticket, when another officer spotted him using his cellphone while driving.
