Identity theft suspect arrested in Carmel, deputies say

A driver is in jail on multiple identity theft charges after deputies said they found driver’s licenses and credit cards during a traffic stop in Carmel.

The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office said Christian Anderson, 35, was pulled over around 6:25 p.m. Wednesday at Aguajito Road and Loma Alta Road in Carmel.

Deputies said they found Anderson in a black Honda sedan, parked on the side of the road. They said Anderson was on probation for two different cases.

During a search of the car, deputies said they found nine California driver’s licenses, two fake driver;s licenses, 24 various credit and debit cards in different names, a Social Security card, a notebook with sensitive information on various people, stolen mail, methamphetamine and a smoking pipe.

Anderson was arrested and booked in the Monterey County Jail.
