UPDATE: Corralitos abandoned dog returned to owner, deputies say

UPDATE 4/10/2015: The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office said the abandoned bloodhound has been returned to his owner on Friday.

Deputies said the dog had dug his way out from under a fence at his home in Corralitos.

They said his owner was located thanks to a microchip.

PREVIOUS STORY: Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputies said a Watsonville woman noticed an abandoned dog Thursday night and reported it to authorities.

Deputies said Sylvia Villanueva called the Sheriff’s Office when she noticed the dog had been tied up to a handrail for several hours outside Four Corners Market in Corralitos.

The dog was given a warm place to stay for the night and anyone with information is asked to call Santa Cruz Animal Control at 831-454-7227.
